The
state’s strategic plan for the survival
of Louisiana’s coast has as its mission,
“to sustain a coastal ecosystem that supports
and protects the environment, economy, and culture
of southern Louisiana, and that contributes
greatly to the economy and well being of the
nation.” Louisiana’s coast is not
only important as a natural resource, but also
as a vital component of the state and nation’s
economic infrastructure. The state and nation
must create a sustainable, viable coastal Louisiana. |
